The world is changing fast! Changes are occurring in such a very rapid pace with both direct and indirect impact on demographic, economic, social, cultural, and political level. These changes have been creating, sometimes in a daily basis, new challenges that need to be faced by all society sectors; sport itself is being openly exposed and the pressure to for evolution is constant.
Recognizing, once more, the need to promote a cooperative and determined approach among Member States, the European Commission, sport movement and all relevant stakeholders, and to deliver added value in the field of sport at EU level in a longer term perspective, the Portuguese Presidency is, hereby, launching this initiative and inviting everyone to join the movement of the “Lisbon Call on Sport Innovation” with the aim to promote a cross-sectoral call on Sport Innovation, reinforcing its political and strategic relevance.
In this context and as previously mentioned, this initiative is expected to bring together Member States and the main stakeholders of the sport sector, regional and local community organisations, and European citizens in a call to promote sport innovation, strengthening the cooperation between different the sectors and actors.
This initiative intendeds to be simple, bold, and meaningful, reflecting the commitment and willingness to act by the organic movement behind it.
In view of the acceptance and recognition of the initiative, in addition to their precious contributions and experience, the involvement of key stakeholders is of the utmost importance to the development of the “Lisbon Call on Sport Innovation”.
More than the subscription of a document, the Lisbon Call is a call to tangible and meaningful action. Thus, the organic movement is the heart and the fuel of this initiative. It represents all potential subscribers of the call, which can be any sport stakeholder, from the biggest sport organisation to an individual citizen aiming to make a change in their community. The success of the movement is directly related to the growth in the number of subscribers over the time and to the creation of a shared identity around it.
More than a declaration, the “Lisboa Call on Sport Innovation” is a call to tangible and meaningful actions. The organic movement is the heart and the fuel of this initiative.
The potential subscribers of the call can be any sport stakeholder, from the biggest sport organisation to an individual citizen aiming to make a change in their community. The success of the movement is directly related to the growth in the number of supporters over the time and to the creation of a shared identity around it.
